Did you know that in 1937, Vernon Rudolf, purchased a secret yeast-raised donut recipe from a French Chef and started selling them at a local grocery store in Winston-Salem, North Carolina? As he cooked the donuts, the aroma wafted outside the store and passersby were intrigued and eventually came in droves. Within a very short time, Mr. Vernon had to cut a hole on a side wall at the grocery store so he can sell donuts conveniently to his loyal customers.
Now 78 years later, Krispy Kreme now has 1,000 stores and is now a favorite global brand! They have since partnered up with Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf but their donuts are as yummy as ever! Surprisingly, their mission is not just to make the best donuts… Their Vision is to CREATE JOYFUL MEMORIES… Who knew?
