Oh what a night! I am very honored to co-emcee this very prestigious “Monte Carlo Nights”- the 21st Annual Awards Gala by the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Orange County with MJ Racadio – Blogger/Podcaster and Producer of “Blog Talk Radio with MJ Racadio.
The evening started with our beautiful guests enjoying the casino tables and power networking. Then the program began with beautiful rendition of both American and Filipino National Anthems by the phenomenal Christine Love.
MJ and I proceeded to introduce esteemed speakers, starting with our very own Past-President, Elena Lapid Salonga who gave a heartwarming speech and recap of her year as FACCOC President. Next was our Special Featured Guest Speaker, Matthew Gambina Vice President and District Manager of South Bay Coastal for US Bank – our generous sponsor for the evening – thank you to the beautiful Joanna Favis Pamaran, Vice-President and Branch Manager for the Los Alamitos Branch.
We then had the new FACCOC Officers and Board of Directors Induction by our beloved Assemblywoman Young O. Kim, but not without a “surprise” birthday song! Today is her birthday! Happy Birthday Assemblywoman Young Kim! The Officers and Board of Directors received Certificate of Recognition from the CA Assembly c/o Assemblywoman Young Kim‘s office and Congressional Certificate of Recognition from Congressman Ed Royce‘s Office.
We then heard the heartfelt speech from our new President Edwin Baloloy. Congratulations Edwin! We look forward to working alongside you!
Our guests enjoyed a beautiful 3-course meal with Christine Love serenading us during dinner.
During dessert, we celebrated this years Awardees –
1) FACCOC Corporate Maharlika Award to Matthew Gambina and Joanna Favis-Pamaran of US Bank
2) Start-up Company of the Year Award – went to Thaddeus Noel Laput of Amore Culinary Innovations, Inc.,
3) FACCOC Community Advocate Award given to Jush Andowitt of Polaris Media & Marketing, GMA International. It’s so wonderful to finally meet you Jush! Looking forward to getting to know you more!
4) FACCOC Community Service Award – to Elena Lapid-Salonga of Lapid Foods, Inc.
5) FACCOC Entrepreneur of the Year Award – to the ever so beautiful and brilliant Tess Mauricio, MD, FAAD Founder of MBeauty by Dr. Tess. I am thrilled to finally meet you Dr. Tess! Looking forward to our interview!
A VERY special and surprise award, “President’s Award” went to Gloria C. Rull, who is truly one of my dear friends and is one of the reasons I decided to get involved with the chamber. She truly has that gift of connecting people and the vision and leadership to take FACCOC to greater heights!
Closing remarks were given by President Elect Neil Estrada which was the perfect segue to more fun at the casino tables and dancing to music from the 80s – the present.
It truly was a memorable evening and special thanks go to the hardworking Event Director – Edith Andres, Program Coordinator Maria Dumatol and the wonderful Photographers from the Filipino Press Club of California with beloved President Andy Z. Edralin and our dearest “Tito” Joe Cobilla!
I even got to dance with my son, Garrett Tiebens, who at 13 years old has been attending seminars and events with me for the past 10 years now! He shared our video on Instagram with a caption, “You can never be too old to dance with Mom!” What a sweetheart!
